Loon is a shallow, dagger-board sloop with designed at the school for day sailing on the Bay or for lake sailing. She is lapstrake planked on oak frames fastened with scews and rivets. Despite the traditional lapstrake hull, Loon will have a modern fractional sloop rig and a black aluminum mast.
