JULY 2008— The Arques School has relocated to the Spaulding Center. All classes are now taking place at the new location. Work on the Freda project has slowed down dramatically in the last few months due to a lack of funds. We remain hopeful that contributors will contact the Spaulding Center, Freda's owner, to donate money so that we can continue with the framing, now two-thirds complete.
We continue to work on the 20ft sloop Loon (photos below) for a launching later this year. In the apprenticeship program we have finished lofting the Guilford Drag Boat once used on Long Island Sound. The project is headed up by apprentice Matt Pool. We are now making molds and backbone pieces for the sloop which we hope to set up in a couple of months.
